There may be no one more qualified to map the country’s journey into hardcore fundamentalism than influencer/podcaster/author/musician Monte Mader. Like her, many Americans were/are being raised not to question the authority of alt-right Christian conservatism.
Eventually, she pursued a path that led her away from “environments that emphasized obedience and traditional gender roles” (her words, and excellent ones at that) and found her way into teaching and preaching a very different kind of gospel.
She took time away from her demanding schedule to talk to us about how others can deconstruct puritanical religious identity to lead a more fulfilling life.
